Tetraploid, Height 66 cm SEv, Re, slightly fragrant, 3 to 5 way branchings, 15-21 bud count, bloom 14 cm.
NORIA was the name of my mom. It is an uncommon name but I like it so much. I named this plant after my mom passed away in 2013, may to honor her memory and because I perfectly remember in 2012 summer, when she was already suffering from increasing health problems, I was bringing to her a blooming clump in a pot. She was very impressed and exclaimed with wonder. Mom liked very strong and brilliant colors and probably passed me these tastes.
Noria the bloom is one of my first hybridizing goals. When I purchased Tetra Midnight Dynamite I was hoping to get a flower with the most intense black eye possible on a very important flower, with a brilliant base color. I used the pollen of TMD in a lot of crosses and got hundred of seedling from this pollen. I was really surprise to got the best result coming out from the cross with Answering Angels that surely look never black! Just the first to bloom of 7 seedlings coming from this cross was extraordinary. It is interesting to see that the blooms of Noria is more big, produced better scapes, large foliage than the parents and this confirm that hybridizing can show a lot of surprises!
So the main tracts of Noria are a super saturated black color eye on an antique intense brilliant antique rose color of base. The edge is of the same colour of the eye, slightly ruffled. In the bad days Noria open well, only the black eye is a bit minus intense but the flower remain good and acctractive. The booms have e very good substance, similar to plastic and are very sunfast for a color like this, even when there are very high temepratures. A good settled plant if well fertilized is a very good rebloomer, even in late summer or fall.
The plant is easily fertile both ways. I got eyed seedlings with very, very intense and saturated colors expecially black eyed or red eyed.
