APPLIQUE is one the early season flower to open in my garden, often on the end of may. It is an unusual form, not a real spider, to great effect. What stands out completely at first sight is the great pastel yellow throat that extends from nearly half of the petals and sepals and gives the impression of having been painted over with dark purplish red color of the flower. The opening evening begins in the morning therefore the show is immediate.
Fertile both ways.
